Radio Frequency Concerns
Wireless bridges and routers, like any radio devices, emit radio frequency electromagnetic energy. RapidWifi's wireless Internet antennas operate in the radio frequency range of 2.4GHz. This frequency range has been reserved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for industrial, scientific and medical use (ISM).
There have been, and will continue to be, on-going concerns about the presence of radio waves in our daily lives. Because of this, several public and private agencies have been established over many years that recommend and enforce safety standards for products that use radio frequency technology. These agencies and committees include the (FCC), the NCRP Scientific Committee 53, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Standards Coordinating Committee 28, to name just a few.

The wireless networking products RapidWifi has deployed have been designed to meet or exceed the safety requirements and recommendations of these regulatory agencies and standards committees. These products are independently tested and can only be sold after receiving FCC Class B Device and FCC Part 15.247 certification.

Four Decades of Research...
The first standards committees and regulatory agencies to seriously study and monitor the effects of radio technology were set up over forty years ago. Panels and committees of leading biologists, biophysicists, physiologists, physicists, physicians, engineers and members of other scientific disciplines continue to test, research and review the health and safety issues relating to the use of radio frequency devices.
For example, in September of 1991, after years of research, the IEEE Standard Board approved IEEE C95.1, IEEE Standards for Safety Levels with Respect to Human Exposure to Radio Frequency Electromagnetic Fields, 3 kHz to 300 GHz. In November of 1992, this standard was approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The following is taken from this IEEE standard: "No verified reports exist of injury to human beings who have been exposed to electromagnetic fields within the limits of frequency and [specific absorption rate] specified by previous ANSI standards, including ANSI C95.1-1982."

The consensus of all acknowledged and respected public and private organizations is that products using radio frequency technology that operate within the guidelines of standards and recommendations, and are legally tested and certified, are considered safe. All of the wireless networking products that Galaxynet uses operate well within the ANSI and IEEE standards.
